With the big Thanksgiving weekend coming up, many of us will be spending this week doing some extra tidying up in our homes before our friends and family show up on the weekend to feast on some deliciously baked Turkey.
Here is an easy, do it yourself scent recipe to help mask those lingering cooking odours while your family and friends visit during Turkey Day.
This great recipe is a potpourri type of mixture that will have your home smelling like a Winter / Christmas Season in no time at all.
What you will need to make it:
- 1½ Cups of fresh Cranberries
- 3 Tangerines, cut into halves
- 1 Teaspoon of whole Cloves
- 1 inch of fresh Ginger
- 1 Vanilla Bean
- 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
- 1 Small, fresh Pine Branch
- 1 Cup of Apple Cider or Cranberry Juice
Combine all the ingredients in a medium sized sauce pot.
Fill the pot with water until it is about ¾ of the way full.
Place the pot on the stove and bring to a gentle boil.
Reduce the heat to a simmer, adding more water as needed.
You can turn off the stove and re-light and set the pot to simmer every few hours to keep your home smelling good throughout the day.
